Did your vision degrade right after an eye examination?

Here is my story of what happened to me, plus web sites with scientific studies to prove 100% without any doubt the Optometrist and the Ophthalmologist are destroying your eye sight during exams and surgery.

These people in this profession do not even know the type of bulb being used in their own equipment or have they even read the instruction manual of the dangers of using this equipment on both young or older people. Many of these technicians have not even done any research to see if this equipment is even safe to use on people eyes.

You will find out below that every time you are exposed to this slit lamp or any type photographing of your eyes you will lose some of your vision every time.

You can hold them 100% accountable for the eye damage you incurred from those exams.

Again people, it all about the money at the expense of your eye health.

The below web sites prove this equipment damages peoples eyes.

Here is my story:

On September 18, 2018 Paul and Linda had an appointment to get their eyes checked at Henry Ford OptimEyes located at 22395 Eureka Road Taylor Michigan 48180 Tel: 734-324-0996

Paul was called in first and had a female intern check his eyes.
Paul requested that they do not dilate his eyes, because he wanted to drive for Uber or Lyft after the examination.
They said that would be no problem.

Paul went though different tests and then went into the exam room where an new intern began the exam. She said she was an intern before she started. She began the different tests and then proceeded using a slit type of lamp to examine Paul's eyes, which and at one point Paul said to her that he thought the light was very bright and it hurt his eyes and he backed away from the light and out of the holder where he had his head in. She assured him and said that it was OK and I had nothing to worry about that it would not damage your eyes Paul.
I trusted her and let her proceed with the exam.
As she was examining Paul's eyes she stopped for long periods of time to try to see different areas of my eyes using a bright slit lamp and a magnifier, which made it even brighter. At one point I complained and pulled my head again out of the fixture. She said you have nothing to worry about that it will not hurt your eyes.

After the examine I mentioned that my eyes seem to be not as clear that things look kind of dark. She said it is like going from bright lights into a dark room and that was the effect of the light on the back of the eye in the examination that it will get better.

When I left that day my eyes felt kind of hurt from the bright lights, but I went out and went driving.
I noticed that my vision seemed to have some dark spots like I had lots of dirt on my eyes like having dirty glasses. These spots remained in place in my vision no matter where I look at. These were not floaters moving across my vision, but were fixed in different parts of my vision and no matter where I looked those spots moved with my eyes. I also seen white circles at the edge of my vision and also seen white flashes in those outer Peripheral vision areas.

At one time I had a small floater, but it went away, because I was using my eyes all the time without glasses driving for Lyft and Uber.
I took pride and told many people including friends and riders in my car my vision both far and mid range was getting better each day.
I was very happy that my vision was getting better day by day just being outside and driving.
My wife was impressed that I could see much better than she could and she was wearing glasses in the car.
I could see my phone on the dash very clear and could see far very clear. I could see many road signs other objects and read them where she could not.
There was proof my vision was getting better, they gave me a weaker prescription for my distance vision at OptimEyes.

My wife and I went into Henry Ford OptimEyes on October 4, 2018 at 4:48 and I told them my issues I keep having in my left eye and decrease in my vision in both eyes and asked if they can see me today for my issues, which was not improving and not going away. The person at the counter wanted to have me come back next week and I said NO, I wanted to be seen today for I had some serious eyes issues because of this exam. They said they had a 5:30pm available, so I said yes, so my wife I drove over and went shopping at Meijer's for a few things and came back.

This time they dilated my eyes and did the same slit lamp exam to see if there was any issues. They said because of my age this was normal. I said this is not, I did not have this issue before I came into this your exam office and I wish I never had this exam in the first place for my vision was getting better.

The only reason we came into that office the first time was for a up to date eye test and to get new glasses for the ones we had from here before were junk, the lens got dark and they scratched very easy, plus our insurance was covering all this at this time.

Here is proof with numerous research facts I have found that the test procedure I received damaged my eyes and caused permanent vision loss damage, which is not reversible.

For example, the perimeter, which enables the visual field to be fully investigated, utilises an intensity of light that is not hazardous even if used for very long periods. On the other hand, the emissions from instruments such as the ophthalmoscope, slit lamp, operation microscope, or endoilluminator are potentially hazardous and can damage the eye, in particular the retina.

Light-induced damage of the retina through slit-lamp photography.
Abstract
BACKGROUND:
I report on two patients who suffered severe loss of visual acuity after slit-lamp photography of the anterior eye segment.
METHODS:
Both patients were pseudophakic and pictures were taken to document the degree of posterior capsule opacification via retroillumination with dilated pupils. Both patients had excellent visual acuity at the time of photography was taken and experienced reduction of to hand movement afterwards. A Zeiss 75 SL device was used for the slit-lamp photography. In cooperation with Carl Zeiss Jena the slit lamp was investigated.
RESULTS:
Ophthalmoscopy and angiography after photography discovered a central macular defect, similar to a photocoagulation.
The visual acuity did not recover.
CONCLUSION:
Under certain circumstances slit-lamp photography of the anterior eye segment can lead to severe light-induced damage of the retina.

How safe is the light during ophthalmic diagnosis and surgery
With modern light sources, the extent of the risk of damage is related to how long the examination or surgery takes; the shorter the exposure, the smaller the risk. So time is a factor in determining safety. If the eye could be completely examined in a second and an operation completed likewise, there would be little risk and this topic would be superfluous. However, therein lies the rub; attempting to make a diagnosis takes time as does surgery and frequently involves the use of a number of different ophthalmic instruments.
We need to examine the eye to determine not only its state of health but also, as it is a window into the body, what might be taking place elsewhere. We have a virtual armoury of diagnostic ophthalmic instruments, not all of which present a light hazard to the eye.

I am trying to settle this with them out of court first as a judge recommended me to do first and if they want to play games and not settle this with me out of court then I will have no choice but to move forward and go public here in the Metro Detroit area in hope it will be a story that will be aired here in Detroit area and spread nationwide to warn everyone of this high risk.
If they do not settle with me, I will make up lighted picket signs and picket in front of this location, which I should be able get well noticed and get lots local TV2,TV4, TV7 and national 95 Talk Radio network coverage in hope that many others will come forward who have also suffered eye loss and eye damage going though the same exam at this location or other locations like this nationwide.
